Shadow The 'Colluki'

Meet Shadow the 'Colluki' - a Border Collie crossed with a Saluki. Shadow (pictured here on the beach at Minehead during a recent holiday) is a rescue dog from the Border Collie Trust. He didn't respond to his original name, so we changed it to 'Shadow' because he follows us everywhere. Our previous much loved 12-year old Border Collie 'Lucky' had to be put to sleep due to advanced bone cancer. Obviously, we were very upset and lasted only 2 weeks without 'man's best friend.'

Shadow is a very handsome and striking looking dog who attracts a lot of attention wherever we go with him. He is a different dog to when we first homed him. Very shy and nervous at first, but docile. He didn't show any interest in toys. A few weeks of loving care brought out his true bouncy and friendly personality. He was supposedly a fussy eater, but we haven't managed to find anything he won't eat!

We think taking on a rescue dog and turning his life around is at least as satisfying as taking on a puppy.
